Known issues and improvements made in each version

This page lists some of the known issues with various versions of EclipseCrossword, and other improvements made between versions.  We recommend that you always upgrade to the latest version.

Version 1.2.59 (current version)

• In an effort to begin to simplify things a bit, we removed the updater feature that was present in version 58 and prior versions.  You can still update EclipseCrossword to the latest version by visiting EclipseCrossword.com, and the link in EclipseCrossword's About window will take you there.

Version 1.2.58

• We added a new feature to make it less likely that you'll accidentally save over your original crossword puzzle and word list files with other types of more easily replaceable files, such as web pages, RTF files, and WMF files.  If you try to save a rich text file with an extension of ".ecw", EclipseCrossword will automatically change the filename to ".rtf".

Version 1.2.57

Known bugs in this version

• Kaspersky trojan false positive—one antivirus software package incorrectly detects a trojan in the EclipseCrossword download
• JavaScript puzzles and words with periods—words with periods (.) can't be entered in Interactive with JavaScript puzzles
• Missing words in printed word bank—when you print a word bank and not all words in your word list were used, the word bank may print incorrectly
• EPS files don't work if created in certain regions—when you create EPS files in certain regions they won't open properly
• Including ampersands in words and newline characters in clues can cause problems in certain types of exported puzzles
• Web pages produced with EclipseCrossword weren't technically valid XHTML
